Kim Clijsters A Great Of The Tennis Autograph Hunter

I love Kim Clijsters, she is a truly great tennis player, she is very popular amongst people like me who love to collect autographs, she is friendly and charming and very accomodating and not rude like you find so often from sports stars who have huge ego trips going on around them, and dont even stop to give you the time of day, we are fans who idolise many sports stars and it really wouldnt be too much of a hrdship to be kind and polite. so it was sad when ms Clijsters retired a good few years back, but fear not, she is back around which is great news for all her fans looking for an autograph. she was Returning to the scene of her greatest triumphs, Kim Clijsters looked like any ordinary working mother (hence the reason for going quiet for a few years - to have a child)  when she strolled into Flushing Meadows in New York City USA on Saturday - oh by the way john mcenroe is a great guy as well that is always happy to sign an autograph for a sports fan.
It was kids' day at flushing meadow and the National Tennis Centre was packed to the hilt with young kids, , teens and families keen to get an early look at the world's best players practising before the last grand slam of the year started on Monday 31st august 2010

If it was not for the camera crews and autograph hunters that followed her aropund (but hey who am i to complain) , Clijsters might easily have been mistaken for any other New York local, chilling out and soaking up the atmos and joining in the excitement on a lovely warm summer day.

But Clijsters is more than just another interested spectator. She is the defending women's champion, she is on a 14-match winning streak in New York and a source of inspiration to millions around the world.

The Belgian had won the title for the first time in 2005 but a wrist injury prevented her from defending her crown. She missed the following two years after taking time out to start a family.

Sports Autograph Stars Give Advice To Tony Blair

i read a funny article aimed at former uk prime minister tony blair, who is launching a book on his memoirs, just like other former prime ministers such as margaret thatcher and john major have done in the past, and it was advice from former famous sports stars on dealing with crowds at autograph signing sessions, and its with interest i read that tony blair has banned use of any mobile phone at his signing becausr they take too long to set up and probably need a 3rd party to assist in the setup of the photo. so he has been getting valuable information from those most used to dealing with instances liek this, namely the sports star especially from clubs like manchester united lierpool, chelsea and arsenal whos main players deal with this regularly. tony blair article.

Tony Blair will soon begin his promotional tour for his autobiography, A Journey, which has been in the news because of the donations issue and giving it to the british legion ehen he effectively took the UK into war on the pretense of WMD. so for autograph collectors like me, who does actually have an autograph at Atomic Autographs but i always like more so i read with trepidation about the many signing sessions arranged throughout the country and the crazy long list of numerous restrictions in place to ensure that the former prime minister is not heckled and given aggoavation while autographing his memoirs. During a decade working at Sportspages bookshop we held scores of these events, a sequence that began in more innocent times with genuine sports fans patiently waiting to spend a couple of minutes with the author, getting their personal dedication and the most forward of them a handshake.

By the end of my time there the professional autograph hunter had besieged us (thats not me honest, just a passing interest) . Brazenly presumptuous (no not me)  and extremely chippy (mmmm i am not so sure), they would come armed with marker pens (yes true)  and a portfolio of glossy photographs (well just a few)  and even replica shirts (no never apart from Vint Cerf) they would expect to have signed that would then appear on eBay (errr no!) within a couple of hours.

not my style, just let me have an autograph and i will peacefully leave you alone mr blair.

at the UFC sports star autograph expo

well  i am a big fan of all sports so it was with excitement that i headed on over to boston to attend The two-day fan expo that was dedicated to everything to do with UFC. for those of you not in the know of this area of sports - its the ultimate fighting club and its a huge huge sport that is incredibly popular that appears to have taken over from what we loved back in the 1980s and 1990s with wwf world wrestling federation that later became WWE after a disagrrement with the world wildlife fund which was  acharity that had a run in with WWE over licensing and trademark infringement,  anyway i digress, we headed on over to the UFC expo as we wer looking for some sports autographs and wow we were not dissapointed. it was packed with autograph signings, question-and-answer sessions with the well known stars sportsment and other figures from the UFC, training and development talks and discussions were held with professional fighters which was really informative and exciting, but we were really there for the autograph hunting, and exhibitions by hundreds of vendors, all leading up to UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2, the big fight that happened Saturday night. wow that was truly stunning, so much better to watch live while you were there than on your tv screens at home with a beer.
a great sports event and some good autographs obtained
